I already have a primary care doctor; do I have to give up my doctor to get services from AHCS?

No, you do not have to give up your doctor. We are happy to work with your doctor to supplement services when you need to be seen in your home or community residence (sick visits, etc). In fact, with your authorization we’ll provide your doctor with access to your electronic medical record, making it easier for both you and your physician to better coordinate your care. There may be times when your condition is such that you cannot easily get out to visit your doctor. We are happy to provide services until you’re able to get to your primary doctor again.

What if I need a specialist?

We can arrange for a referral to a specialist, should the need arise, or we will work with any specialist you currently use. And if you should need to go to the hospital, we will work with your admitting physician to make sure your care is coordinated on admission and on discharge.
